Jens Demmler
CEO and Director

Originally from Germany, Jens fell in love with Africa through extensive travels and in 2012 founded the Saragossa Game Reserve. In contrast to his businesses in Europe he strives to make a difference in the travel industry. His philosophy about food and self-sufficiency are the pillars on which Saragossa stands. “Saragossa is the ideal spot to slow down and reconnect with yourself and enjoy the unbelievable beauty of Mother Nature”.

Anna Venter
Lodge Manager

Anna loves travelling and have been fortunate enough to travel and work at the same time; destinations including Holland, Madagascar, Zambia, the Okavango Delta and South Africa. She believes travelling teaches us to find the wonder and marvel in ordinary life, it broadens horizons and makes the ordinary come alive and once that happens, the extraordinary takes care of itself.

Caroline Kruger
Agri Manager

Caroline is known as an animal lover and has saved many a wild and domestic babe in need, she also has a vast knowledge of all things ecological and the bushveld remains her first love. Starting her career at Londolozi Game Reserve in 1995 she has since worked in exotic locations such as Dubai, the Okavango Delta and Zambia. At Saragossa she hopes to grow the best farm-to-table meat and vegetables for our guests to enjoy.

Michele Botha
Office Administrator & Reservations

Michele found her way to Saragossa Game Reserve in 2017. She is a lady with few words, loves numbers and the precision, discipline, and accountability it offers. Saragossa provides her with the platform to work with interesting and delightful guest and ensure all things accounting are finalized swiftly, efficiently and without a hassle and bustle. She hopes to add some value to everything she does in life

Nico van der Merwe
Ranger

Nico grew up in a little town called Wellington situated in the Western Cape. After matriculating he went on to become a qualified field guide. Nico enjoys travelling, seeing and experiencing different cultures. the favorite part of his job is satisfying guests and seeing their appreciation of all small things.

Christa Barker
Receptionist

Christa brings with her the history of our agricultural farm having started at Saragossa in 2012. She has seen the farm succeed and grow into exciting new directions and is always willing to lend a helping hand from animal matters to the checking in and out of our guests. She primarily takes charge of our reception desk and is the friendly voice on the other side of the telephone line.

Hugo Coetzer
Ranger

With his broad range of knowledge Hugo perfectly complements the Saragossa team. Not only does he have a degree in Heritage and Cultural Tourism as well as field guide qualifications but is also an avid fisherman. He has taken on the mammoth task of ridding our reserve of invasive plants. In his spare time he loves exploring his surroundings broadening his knowledge on all fauna, flora and historic events in our area.

Thabang Mogomotsi
Chef

Thabang developed a love for cooking at a very young age while living with his great grandmother. After matriculating he studied hospitality and his first position with Silver Star Casino was a dream come true. It was only in 2017 that he joined the Saragossa team. Thabang loves travelling and would like to experience some of the world’s cuisines. It is his passion to create happiness through great tasting meals wherever he is.

Frank Kruger
Ranger

Franks’ love of nature started when he was a young boy watching documentaries with his grandfather. Frank hails from Pretoria and after some initial endeavors in the IT business; he decided to follow his heart and obtained a diploma in Nature Management at Centurion College. He has a keen interest in the little creatures like scorpions, snakes and lizards and loves nothing better than sharing the thrill of a scorpion on ones hand with our guests.
